The concept was simple: MTV Cribs but for the Navy — a personal tour of an expensive Navy ship and top-secret submarine, with a unique Navy charm and chill attitude. Obviously, we used Snoop Dogg as a key reference.
Kabai’s crib:
hmas adelaide
The man, the myth, the legend — Kabai takes us on a tour of his crib, HMAS Adelaide. Even though its tone was unlike any previous Navy or Defence Force content, it received no negative feedback in research review and scored 100% on authenticity — even when Kabai says every room, equipment and flight deck belongs to him!
Originally a ‘no-shoot’ budget, the Navy loved this idea so much they funded it with total costs around ~$700k by end of production.
Jess’ crib:
hmas collins
The client loved Kabai’s video so much they let us do another one with a top-secret submarine. This time, we chose a female sailor to lead.
